Formerly Our Mama Village, Nurtured First approached us to redefine their brand to be more inclusive of their expanding audience. As a company that originally started as a mommy blog by their founder, Jess (a child psychologist who was struggling to adjust to the realities of parenting), Nurtured First’s newfound popularity on Instagram left them wanting to expand their brand name and message to include all types of parents. One of the main goals of their content is to help parents understand that by nurturing yourself you enable yourself to be the parent you wish you got to have.
As part of this project, we designed and developed a new brand identity, UI library, collection of illustrations and art for their new podcast (Robot Unicorn) that would act as the same type of foundation they work to provide parents with - but for themselves.
In order to create a brand that would resonate with parents everywhere, we got to know all the key “characters” involved in the Nurtured First brand. Because Jess really was the centre of the brand, we wanted to understand what exactly about her made things work - so we spent time getting to know her and her vision for the brand, finding out what makes her tick, and digging through piles of feedback and insight from the very audience that eagerly follows her every move.
The key to this project’s success was creating characters that could evolve with the brand as they add new products and streams of content to their offering.
